Murphy aka "Goose Goose"

Murphy is our new little goose on the farm. She was hatched on June 1st, 2007 from a big fat goose egg and is completely imprinted on humans....soo cute and just the greatest helper around the barn :) Her favorite past times are following Mama Goose (ME), helping clean out stalls, hissing at the cats, and picking worms from the "worm pile". She is such a joy to have around. More pictures will be posted as she grows :)

Murphy @ about 14 days old

Murphy @ just over a month old...starting to get some new feathers on her wings and getting bigger!

Murphy on July14th, getting some color and LOTS of new adult feathers...

Goose Goose @ about 2 months old, you can see the new feathers still have a little ways to go! She is getting very good at making big messes in the barn! But she is such a joy to have around :)

Goose Goose @ almost 5 months old. Murphy is such a silly goose...literally! She loves to help with chores and especially loves grooming herself & the horses as you can see above. She is a sassy girl for sure, but so pretty!! She loves to harass the barn cats & goats...but is VERY human friendly. I have to watch her at every turn because she will follow just about anyone or anything home! Including cars/trucks that go down the road!!! Naughty Goose!! Murphy has a birth defect in her wing and although she acts like she can fly, I have yet to see her take off.....so we aren't sure if she will ever leave us to head south w/ her comrades we see flying in the sky! But it's okay if she doesnt....we love having her here!!

Goose Goose in April 2008

Murphy w/ a visiting wild goose in late August 2008. We were hoping he would stay & keep Murphy company, but he did fly south with a group that went by leaving our poor baby behind..... I have yet to see Murphy actually FLY. She does pretend though!
